The Hostel López Madrid is housed in an XIX century building at the heart of historic and artistic Madrid. The location in the historic center could not be better. The Prado Art Museum, the most important museum in Spain, is only one block away. The Thyssen Art Collection and the Reina Sofía Modern Art Museum are easily reached by foot. These three museums are closely located in what is called the Avenue of Art; the hostel is in the center of this special district.

The trip takes 30 minutes from the airport depending on traffic. The cost is about € 25.

Since the Hostel is located on a pedestrian street please provide the following instructions to the taxi driver:
Once you reach Paseo del Prado take Lope de Vega Street and turn left at the second street called Costanilla de las Trinitarias, the taxi driver can leave you on the corner of that street with Huertas Street. Hostal López is just a few feet away and you can see the sign of the Hostel from that corner.

Bus line 200 runs from terminals 1, 2 and 3, and line 204 from Terminal 4 to the "Intercambiador de Avenida de America" bus station.The fare is € 2.40. It runs from 5:56am till 11:30pm.

From there you have two options:

• Take the Metro at the "Intercambiador de Avenida de America", the station is called "Avenida de America" and go to "Bilbao" station on the brown line (4). Transfer to the blue line at Bilbao and go to Antón Martín. Leave Antón Martín station via the exit to "Amor de Dios" Street and at the end of it you will find "Huertas" Street where the Hostal López is located at number 54.
• Take a taxi.

The price of a ticket for either the bus or the subway is € 1. We recommend you to buy a 10 trip ticket costing € 9.00.

There is a Metro station at the airport called Aeropuerto. To reach the Hostal López by Metro you have to take Line 8 (pink) from Aeropuerto station to Nuevos Ministerios station, then switch to Line 6 (grey) from Nuevos Ministerios station to Cuatro Caminos station, and finally switch to Line 1 (blue) from Cuatro Caminos station to Antón Martín station. Antón Martín is the nearest Metro station to the Hostal López, take the exit to Amor de Dios Street and at the end of it you will find Huertas Street where Hostal López is located at number 54.

All railway stations in Madrid are also subway stations. To reach Hostal López take the Metro to Antón Martin station. From there it is a 5 minute walk.

If you are driving a car, you can park in one of two car parks. They are both quite close, one is in front of the Parliament building and the other is near the Plaza de Santa Ana. The first one is just a 5 minute walk away.
